Emergency Minor Repair

Program Overview

The City of Miramar offers emergency home repair assistance to very low-to-low-income households residing in owner-occupied homes. This program is funded by federal, and state resources and addresses critical repairs to ensure safe and livable conditions. 

Eligible Repairs Include: 

  • AC replacement 

  • Plumbing 

  • Roofing 

  • Electrical systems 

  • Other health and safety hazards 

Program Highlights: 

  • Assistance Amount: Up to $25,000. 

  • Required Documentation: Clear photographs of the emergency condition must be submitted to enable assessment by the City’s Building Department. 

  • Lien Requirement: A 15-year lien will be recorded for the amount of assistance provided. 

Important Notes: 

  • Exclusions: Cosmetic or interior remodeling work will not be eligible for this program. 

  • Compliance: Eligible repair items are determined by State and Federal regulations, not by local municipal guidelines. 

  • Inspection Process: A Rehabilitation Inspector will evaluate your home’s repair needs; prioritizing improvements based on program guidelines.
